Once again, the OWS Series is excited to be returning to Leighton Beach for the round 2 of the 2022/23 OWS Series, proudly presented by the City of Fremantle.
Distances available: 500m, 1km, 2.5km, 5km, 7.5km STATES & Teams + Duos.
Leighton will also be the first round of The Elite who will swim in the 7.5km State Championships

How to Register!
Registrations are now open! Click here to register via Register Now!
Registrations for 500m are open until 7:15am, with all other distances open until 7:30am on the day of the event. DUO and Teams are open until 8:30am on the day of the event. Registering late will incur a late fee so make sure you get in early.

How do I change my distance?
Note: Changes to race distances can be made online up to one day before the event. It is recommended if you wish to change your distance to do so as early as possible to avoid queues.
Step 1. Click here
Step 2. Enter the email that was used to register for your swim
Step 3. Select the event you wish to change, the distance and click the “Access” link.
Step 4. Scroll down to the Event heading and click the green “Edit” button.
Step 5. Select your desired distance and click the green “Continue” button and follow the prompts through to the end.
Note that there is a $2 charge to make alterations so we recommend only changing when you are sure of your choice.
Race Tattoos, Timing Chips and Caps.
If you are an OWS member, Masters member or Non member.
- You will receive two individually numbered race tattoos. These need to be applied to the outside of each of your arms. You will also receive a timing chip that is placed on your wrist and a coloured swimming cap based on the distance you are swimming. (See wave times for more information)
If you are a SWA Member.
- You will receive a a set of six tattoos. You need to be apply 2 tattoos to your shoulder blades, arms and back of hands. You will also receive a timing chips that are to be placed on your wrist and a coloured swimming cap based on the distance you are swimming is to be worn. (See wave times for more information)
If you are competing as a DUO or in the TEAMS event.
- You will receive two individually numbered race tattoos. These need to be applied to the outside of each of your arms. You will also receive a timing chip per DUO/Team that is to be placed on the swimmer that is in the water and swapped in transition between teammates. A coloured swimming cap based on the distance you are swimming is also to be worn. (See wave times for more information)
How to apply your Tattoos
No need to wait in line, you can apply the tattoo yourself:
1. Separate tattoos
2. Remove plastic coating
3. Apply to arm with logo at the top of the arm as pictured below
4. Apply water for 1min (wet cloth is best) or until soaked through
5. Slowly remove paper
Note: Make sure to apply the race tattoo before your sunscreen.

1km: Briefing time – 07:55 am, Start Time – 08:00 am, Cap Colour – Silver-
7.5km: Briefing time – 07:55 am, Start Time – 08:02 am, Cap Colour – Purple
Public 5km: Briefing time – 07:55 am, Start Time – 08:04 am, Cap Colour – Red
Public 2.5km: Briefing time: 07:55 am, Start Time: 08:06 am, Cap Colour – Green
Teams:
DUO: 4km Briefing time – 08:45am, Start Time – 09:00am, Cap Colour – Orange
Teams: 4km Briefing time – 08:45am, Start Time – 09:00am, Cap Coulor – Black
Parking
Please allow plenty of time to park and check-in as cut off times are strict. Remember to follow all road signs and parking rules.
